CIEH Intermediate Certificate in Food Safety (Refresher)

This is an opportunity for food safety supervisors who have previously completed food safety training (formally CIEH Intermediate Food Hygiene) to update their qualification.

Outline programme

The qualification covers the following topics:

  • Terminology in respect of supervising food safety
  • Key points of UK and European legislation that apply to food safety in a food business
  • Concept of food hazards and the risk associated with them
  • Role temperature plays in the control of food safety
  • Importance of supervising high standards of cleanliness in food premises
  • Techniques involved in controlling and monitoring food safety.

30 multiple choice questions

Course progression

  • CIEH Level 4 Award in Managing Food Safety in Catering
  • CIEH Level 4 Award in Food Safety Management for Manufacturing

Delegates must provide evidence of completion of the CIEH Level 3 Award in Food Safety (formally CIEH Intermediate Food Hygiene) prior to attendance.
