Announcing Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol Ambassadors 2021/22

As part of Welsh Language Rights’ Day, Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol is pleased to be able to announce their new Ambassadors.

The Coleg has a Further Education and Apprenticeship Ambassadors program which secures a network of ambassadors across Welsh further education institutions to promote the opportunities available to use Welsh in their institution, socially and the opportunities and rights to study bilingually.

The aim of the Ambassador scheme is to ensure that the Coleg Cymraeg is visible across the Grŵp's campuses. Ambassadors will be encouraged to inspire their fellow students of the benefits of the Welsh language and bilingual studies, make digital use of Welsh on our social media, as well as support the work of the Branch Officers when organising extracurricular activities.

For the first time, Grŵp Llandrillo Menai has 5 Student Ambassadors representing the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol across campuses. The 5 have been introduced today on the Branch's social media pages, but here's a little about the Ambassadors:

Coleg Menai Ambassador

Sara Llwyd Dafydd studies Biology, Psychology, and Chemistry on Bangor campus. She looks forward to encouraging her co-learners to speak Welsh.

Coleg Llandrillo Ambassadors

Chloe Mills, who studies Health and Social Care on Rhos campus, is keen to develop her Welsh speaking skills whilst having fun.

Jack Greenhalgh studies Public Services on Rhos campus. Jack became an ambassador as he feels more people should explore Wales’ culture.

Holly Whitehouse also studies on Rhos campus following the Hairdressing course. She believes we should be proud that we have a language to celebrate and share.

Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor Ambassador

Aneesa Khan is a Health and Social Care learner in Pwllheli. She strongly believes that the Welsh language needs to be spoken verbally for it to continue, this will be reinforced during her time as ambassador.

With their enthusiasm for the Welsh Language, their contribution to the work of the Grŵp's Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol Branch will be key during the year and in sharing information about the opportunities and rights of learners at the college.
