Bangor Science Students Celebrate Completion of Biomedical Diploma
Coleg Menai’s Applied Science students were recently presented with their diplomas and student awards at an end-of-year celebratory event.
The budding scientists – who study at the college’s Bangor campus - also got the opportunity to chat with their tutors informally and take part in a range of quizzes with their peers.
The Level 3 students - Josie, Michelle, Leanne, Christopher, Robert and Tomás - also gave a joint presentation to first-year students and staff. During this, they shared their experiences of the course, their favourite memories, and their future plans, which include going onto a range of universities to study for degrees in Biomedical Science, Health and Social Care and Marine Vertebrate Zoology!
Susan Parry, programme leader for Biomedical Science at Coleg Menai, said: “We are extremely proud of the students, and it was great being able to celebrate their fantastic achievements with them. Many of the students are going on to study at universities next year and we wish them all the best!”
The Level 3 BTEC Applied Science (Biomedical) course is a two-year course and is equivalent to 3 A-levels. It provides the knowledge, understanding and skills for learners wishing to enter a career as a science technician in the areas of laboratory and industrial science, medical science service or the forensic science service.
