Ex-College Student Secures Programme Leader Position at College He Studied at!

A former college student has just secured the position of Programme Leader for Higher Education Media at the college he studied at!

James Lehart has just been announced as the new Programme Leader for university-level Media courses at Coleg Llandrillo’s Rhos-on-sea campus.

James, who admittedly “under-achieved at school”, later excelled at college, successfully completing Levels 1-6 at Coleg Llandrillo, including a First-Class Honours degree!

Several years after leaving school, he returned to education in 2008, completing the Diploma in Digital Applications at the college. On completion, he again took time out from education, only deciding to “properly start afresh to get my life in order” six years later.

In 2015, he enrolled on the BTEC Level 3 in Media course, and was fast-tracked after only one year onto the college’s BA (Hons) in Creative Media degree course.

James then decided that he wanted to go into teaching, so enrolled on the college’s Postgraduate Certificate in Education Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) course and accepted a placement within the college’s Media department. He said: “Halfway through the first year of my PGCE, I applied for the position of lecturer within the college’s Computing & Media department, which I got. So, I became a lecturer in 2020 during the pandemic.”

He added: “I am excited by this new enormous challenge. My life is testament to the saying ‘hard work pays off eventually’.”
