OUR GRŴP: MEET THE STAFF

Welcome to ‘Our Grŵp’, the new staff profile feature for Grŵp Llandrillo Menai.

‘Our Grŵp’ will feature a new staff member every month: where you can get to know our Team a little better, hear about their roles, and the fantastic experiences they have had with the Grŵp.

Grŵp Rugby Engagement Officer

What does your job involve?

My role is to develop, grow and improve the health and wellbeing of students across the Grŵp, whilst ensuring that physical activity is inclusive in all sections and ages of our communities.

Duties of my role include promoting active lifestyles through delivering a comprehensive and inclusive programme, supporting learners to become sport volunteers and coaches, delivering physical and well-being activities, and engaging with under-represented groups of learners.

I aim to “inspire learners to choose and retain an active lifestyle”, by increasing and improving engagement and participation we can promote the core values of the Grŵp’s Wellbeing Strategy, as well as provide an opportunity to improve the cohesion of health and well-being, families and communities.

I oversee the ‘The Active Ambassador’ programme, which is designed to develop leaders of the future across the Grŵp, through promoting the importance of health and wellbeing and participation in physical activity. The programme looks to attract a wide range of students with varying skills and abilities to be a more diverse and inclusive programme supporting student opportunities. I take every opportunity to promote the importance of keeping active and healthy to ensure a healthy mind and body. This could involve working with tutorial groups, linking Ambassadors to local primary schools or community clubs, updating and creating new content for the Wellbeing Hub, and posting on our social media platforms where I share information for learners - ensuring it's aligned to the Wellbeing Framework.

What are some of your Hobbies and Interests?

Spending Time with Friends and Family

Mountaineering and Walking

Sports - Rugby / Judo / Crossfit / Weightlifting

Volunteering at Sporting Events

What do you like about working at Grŵp Llandrillo Menai?

That every day is different!
