Rhyl College’s Much-Loved Receptionists Move On To Pastures New

Rhyl College’s two much-loved receptionists - who started their roles within a week of each other nearly 20 years ago - bade a fond farewell to staff and students alike recently, before moving on to pastures new.

Margaret Kennedy and Val Wright have each worked at Coleg Llandrillo’s Rhyl campus for eighteen and a half years. The fun-loving stalwarts will both be sorely missed by the whole of the Rhyl College community.

Margaret is moving to Scotland to be closer to her family, whilst Val will be retiring alongside her husband Steve, who was latterly a caretaker at Rhyl College, before previously working at several of Grŵp Llandrillo Menai’s campuses over a 12-year period.

Margaret said: "I would like to thank everyone, both past and present, who I have worked with over the years. I have enjoyed my time tremendously and have made many friends who I will continue to keep in touch with. Although I am returning to Scotland, Wales will always be my second home…Hwyl Fawr!”

Val is looking forward to travelling more (when restrictions allow) and has a holiday to Japan booked for next March. She said: “I would like to thank my colleagues and friends past and present for all the happy memories that I will take with me."
