The Food Technology Centre is actively involved in a number of projects that supports the food and drink manufacturing industry in Wales.
Project HELIX delivers practical knowledge transfer activity, supporting Welsh companies to develop and reformulate innovative products from concept, design, development and manufacture, through to the consumer's shopping basket.
HELIX offers support that is tailored to your company's needs and is a pan Wales initiative delivered by Food Innovation Wales.
HELIX offers three packages for eligible businesses in Wales with the intervention rates dependent on certain criteria's:
- Short term Knowledge Transfer – 100% intervention
- Medium term Knowledge Transfer - 100% micro, 80% SMEs and 50% intervention for large businesses.
- Long term Knowledge Transfer – Affiliate placed within an SME company for a minimum of one year with full support from the Food Technology Centre. Project has to be technical related and is mentored by one of the Food Technologist and will have access to the centre's facilities.
