Degrees of Success at Grŵp Llandrillo Menai

Studying for a degree can be life-changing - new knowledge, independence and exciting opportunities - but, going away to university can also have some drawbacks - accommodation costs & debt, restrictions and the thought of being lost in the crowd. But what if there was a different way?

By studying locally, you can combine the benefits of achieving your degree without the drawbacks of moving away. Grŵp Llandrillo Menai offers over 30 different degree courses across its three colleges - Coleg Llandrillo, Coleg Menai and Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor - giving you the flexibility of studying locally and saving thousands of pounds.

Smaller class sizes mean that you’ll have personal support throughout your course from tutors and classmates, and with degrees validated and awarded by Bangor University.

Most of the degree courses are offered at the fully-equipped, multi-million pound University Centre in Rhos-on-Sea, with some university-level programmes also available at the Bangor, Rhyl, Llangefni and Dolgellau campuses.

Many of the courses on offer are vocational qualifications developed in consultation with employers, to equip learners with the skills and knowledge that employers require and to make progression into employment easier. Often, the full-time courses are delivered over two days per week, helping learners fit their studies around work and family commitments.

What’s more, brand new Degree Apprenticeships provide an alternative route to traditional higher education. They combine full-time work with part-time study: you will work four days with your employer and study one day on day-release, as well as one evening per week for the first two years. In the last year of your Degree Apprenticeship, you’ll move location to Bangor University to study for one day per week to complete the BSc (Hons) qualification. On successful completion, you will be presented with a degree from Bangor University at the annual Graduation Ceremony!
